To quote the back cover blurb, Real Service is a handbook for service-oriented submissives and the people they serve. Whether someone is a sub or a slave, Dom or Master, ideas of how you can be of service to someone or be served by someone abound in this book. Raven and Joshua have years of experience with Joshua being of various sorts of slave to Raven and doing his best to make Raven’s life better as well as enabling Raven to be of service to others in his writing and speaking to and for various groups. This book is their thoughts on service and how to be of service.

No one will agree with everything or do everything suggested in the book. When it comes to the large numbers of examples of specific ways of being of service at various levels of knowledge, skills and abilities at the end of the book, I disagree with where they placed many things, but we are different and where I think they should be are not where others will think they belong. It is, however, a great starting point to work from and will give everyone a lot to think about even if your relationship is not service based. There is always something we do or could do for others or have done for ourselves.

The book is packed with ideas and examples plus some of their theory of what service is and should be. Yes, it repeats some ideas a bit much but they are there to emphasize ideas such as if the Master doesn’t want it, it’s not service. Despite that one flaw, this book is going very high on my recommended list for anyone in a service-oriented Dom/sub relationship and everyone in a Master/slave relationship. There are too many good ideas and examples in this book for me to not have it recommended for almost everyone. Even if you are not in this type of relationship but want to be of service to your significant whatever, you will still find it of use.
